Non-travelling relatives and business partners
The policy definition of existing medical condition applies to you, any member of your travelling party, any relatives or business partners, and any other person you have a relationship with.
If a relative or business partner who is not going on the trip with you has an existing medical condition and their health may affect your travel plans, it is possible to apply for an assessment to cover their existing medical conditions.
Unless you apply for an assessment and cover is approved, there would be no cover for claims under any section of the policy if you need to cancel or change your travel plans because of an existing medical condition of a relative or business partner.
Please note that cover for the existing medical conditions of non travelling relatives or business partners is not available on all policies (cover is currently only available on the QBE International Comprehensive Policy, QBE Annual Multi Trip Policy and QBE Australian Comprehensive Policy). The relative or business partner must also be under 80 on the date that you buy the policy. Full terms and conditions relating to cover for existing medical conditions can be found in the product disclosure statement.
